What will you do?
Our client is a housing facility for children and young adults with a physical or mental disability. They live here full time and the facility consists of 4 different departments with each department having around 15-25 residents. Because of their disability, this target group needs help with almost all facets of daily life such as showering, dressing, visiting the toilet, eating and activities. The housing facility stimulates contact with the home front and they are therefore always welcome to visit and they can also take the residents for an activity or, for example, a weekend away. Within this nursing internship in South Africa you will be involved in, among other things, assisting with showering, dressing and preparing the residents. You receive the transfer of the night shift where you set up the duties for the coming day, assist with the possible transfer of residents to a hospital or clinic and administrative tasks. You also support the residents in their daily activities and you guide them to their physiotherapy, for example. There is also room for research into various topics such as personnel training or communication.

All apartments have their own kitchen and bathroom (s). The front two apartments border directly on the main road and the third apartment behind this is slightly lower on the hill. All three apartments have a balcony at the back of the apartment. You share the apartment with a few housemates, but stay in this student complex with about 45 other international students in the Sea Point neighborhood. You are close to shops, restaurants and Cape Town’s city center.

Wat wij bieden binnen deze event en productie stage in Kaapstad:
– Een stageperiode van 4 tot 6 maanden;
– Stage lopen bij een bedrijf met jaren ervaring binnen de festivalsector;

Wat ga je doen?
Onze opdrachtgever is een festivalorganisator in Zuid-Afrika en hun kantoor zit gevestigd in Green Point. Ze staan bekend om het organiseren van het bekendste studentenfestival van het land welke een week duurt. Daarnaast doen ze nog verschillende meerdaagse festivals. 


Binnen deze event en productie stage in Kaapstad werk je aan de voorbereiding en uitvoering van twee grote festivals. Beide vinden plaats aan het einde van je stage dus je hebt de mogelijkheid het gehele traject mee te draaien. Het studentenfestival is een 7 daags festival met een breed aanbod van band, DJ’s en strandactiviteiten. Het tweede festival is meer gericht op rock en elektronische muziek. Je gaat je bezighouden met taken zoals venue management, coördineren van de ticketverkoop, uitreiken naar potentiële sponsors, veiligheidseisen en vergunningen. Daarnaast help je mee met het op-en afbouwen van de festivals. Gezien beide festivals buiten Kaapstad plaatsvinden zal je een deel van je stage doorbrengen in Plettenberg Bay en Jeffrey’s Bay, een unieke mogelijkheid om zoveel mogelijk van Zuid-Afrika te ontdekken!
